The thing with Gerry though is that he has clout. He can afford a bit of a lag – but not too much before the “kogan” like businesses start hitting his bottom line. He needs to hire a bunch of focused Gen-Y and Xers who know about building online communities and the rising markets better than himself… and not just rehash old catalogue strategies. A carefully managed online strategy would be cheaper any day over a nationwide catalogue drop.
