Frankly, any bookkeeper worth their salt should not find these changes in the slightest bit “confusing”.
In fact, it should finally draw a clear distinction between a professional bookeeper in the truest sense of someone who is “recording the financial transactions of an entity for historical purposes” and a hack data entry processor who “has done an MYOB course” or even worse, someone who believes that “as long as the bank reconciliation balances” the financial records are in order.
A good bookkeeper is a great asset to any small business, but too often you find that these business owners will object to spending a few thousand per annum on a quality bookkeeper, yet do not blink an eye at paying some tens of thousands to their accountant for EXACTLY THE SAME SERVICE. I personally do not think that these changes can come soon enough!
