Do you have what it takes to be a Future Maker?
In recent years, several barriers have come tumbling down for budding entrepreneurs but few have fallen as spectacularly as age.
The old maxim of ‘if you’re good enough you’re old enough’ has been brought to life by the multi-billionaire status of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, still just 28 years old, and Larry Page and Sergey Brin who, both aged 25, created Google.
Closer to home, there have been numerous recent examples of fresh-faced entrepreneurs hitting the big time, ranging from Shainiel Deo and Daniel Vogt, who have raked in a $65 million fortune from creating the Fruit Ninja game, to Sydneysiders Mathew Carpenter and Callum Chapman, both aged just 20, who recently struck a major deal to take their app, Cappture, to the US.
Falling costs and natural proficiency make technology a ready home for young business builders, but young blood is also being injected into industries such as retail, manufacturing and financial services.
Following StartupSmart’s inaugural Future Makers list from last year, we are at it again. We want to identify Australia’s brightest and best entrepreneurs aged under 25.
We will be compiling a list of Australia’s most promising business builders based on ambition and innovative thinking as much as achievement to date.
We want to know what makes your business special and how it will stand out from the crowd as you grow. Only the young entrepreneurs who are bringing the freshest thinking and best paths to growth will make the cut.
To put your name forward – or nominate someone you know – for Future Makers 2012, simply answer the following questions by Monday, November 26.
We will profile each of our Future Makers in depth after this date, providing invaluable coverage to your business. Good luck!
