PayPal launches PassPort to help businesses boost international sales

PayPal has launched a new site called PassPort, which is aimed at helping businesses using the payment platform to easily expand their international sales.

The free site provides tips, stats and general information on selling internationally.

PassPort provides country-specific guidance around seasonal sales peaks, cultural customers, taboos and trends, shipping and distribution logistics, currency exchange and fees, and customs procedures and taxes.

In addition it also provides case studies and examples of best practice to help businesses learn how to succeed selling globally.

PayPalโ€™s senior director of global initiatives, Anuj Nayar, told TechCrunch one quarter of PayPalโ€™s businesses is the result of international sales.

Nayar says PassPort is not offering detailed analytics for individual businesses, rather focusing on broader, more general advice, although it will encourage them to connect with experts that can help them in that area.
