Microsoft has rolled out a range of new programs to support business users of its Surface products, VentureBeat reports.
The tech giant said customers have been asking it to make a longer-term commitment to Surface for businesses of all sizes.
The Surface Pro 3 was released in June and now Microsoft has launched a support offering called Microsoft Complete for Business. It carries a three-year extended warranty, accidental damage protection, faster exchange service, and Surface setup support.
It will also be able to upgrade to Windows 10 when it is released.
The Surface Pro 3 also now qualifies for the US Environmental Protection Agency Energy Star program for computers, helping companies taking part in environmental pledge programs to meet their goals.
In addition Surface Pro accessories will be compatible with the next generation of Surface Pro, with the company hoping that will make the offering more attractive to business customers.
Microsoft chief executive officer Satya Nadella said the company believes the strength of its enterprise offering is a rich ecosystem of hardware and applications.
โMicrosoft is putting its full and sustained support behind the ongoing Surface program as one of a number of great hardware choices for businesses large and small,โ he says.
