Mozilla Firefox may be popular among web-browser users and Google might have launched Chrome, but Microsoft’s Internet Explorer holds the majority of the market and the software giant wants to maintain its lead with Internet Explorer 8.
Microsoft has released a second beta version of the browser, which boasts a “smart” address bar, which remembers sites visited previously, and “InPrivate Browsing”, which deletes user information and browser history from the user’s computer.
This is the second test of the software. The first version released in March was mainly for web developers, while this release is suited for a casual users market.
Microsoft Internet Explorer holds about 75% of the web-browser market.
Although Microsoft has not revealed a release date for the new software or numbers for how many people will be expected to trial the new software, it says it plans to release more regular updates once the browser is released.
