A disappointed iiNet CEO Michael Malone has revealed that just 10,000 consumers have adopted the FetchTV internet pay TV service across both iiNet and its subsidiary, Internode.

In an interview with CRN, Malone revealed:

โ€œIt’s exactly the same growth as we’ve had for the last two years in FetchTV, it’s gone pretty consistently half-on-half … I can’t fathom myself why it’s not taking off a lot faster.

โ€œLonger term, content is the next battleground and the regulator recognised that as well.

โ€œToday the pay TV market in Australia has less than 25% penetration.

โ€œI’d like to think that if Foxtel was interested in offering wholesale access to their content we could get that penetration up significantly.”
