Author and former Apple chief evangelist and venture capitalist Guy Kawasaki has been announced as the guest judge for the Vodafone Foundation’s App Aid hackathon event.

Kawasaki is perhaps best known as the author of a number of tech books, including The Macintosh Way, in which he describes his time working as the company’s chief evangelist from 1983 to 1987. Apple’s Macintosh personal computer was originally released in the US on January 24, 1984.

The event will take place on September 22, with developers competing to develop the most innovative fundraising app for their nominated charity.

The three winning teams will win a donation to their nominated charity to continue the development of their app.
