Canonical has released the latest version of its Unity desktop interface ahead of the release of its Ubuntu 12.10 Linux operating system.
According to H-Online, key features of the upgraded Unity desktop include a new shopping lens and improvements to the video lens.
In Unity, lenses are essentially a way to search for a particular type of content (for example, shopping or videos) both on a user’s local machine and the internet.
Ubuntu 12.10 is expected to be released on September 27 and might include the latest version of Unity by default.
