Mozilla has confirmed rumours it is in the process of creating a version of its Firefox web browser for iPhones and iPads, revealing its alternative to Apple’s Safari is in the pipeline.
While Mozilla has long offered a version of Firefox for Android smartphones and tablets, in the past Apple has had a policy of blocking third-party web browsers from its app store.
Apple has also put restrictions around apps using its own Javascript engines, meaning any third-party web browser prior to iOS 8 would have been slower than Safari.
