Vodafone Hutchinson Australia, the parent company of both Three and Vodafone, has announced that customers of its Three brand will begin roaming on the Vodafone network.

According to IT News,ย the move comes as both VHA and Telstra migrate customers off the 3GIS network ahead of its eventual closure in August this year.

The 3GIS network has been operated as a joint venture between Hutchinson and Telstra since 2004, and had been marketed as the Three network and the Telstra 3G network by its owners respectively.

However, in recent years the network has been superseded by both Telstraโ€™s HSPA+ โ€œNext-Gโ€ and โ€œ4Gโ€ LTE networks, as well as Vodafoneโ€™s HSPA+ networkย following the merger between Hutchinson Australia and Vodafone.
