Dish Network, owner of the video store chain and online movie rental service Blockbuster, is announcing a Blockbuster-branded movie streaming service to both combat Netflix’s recent split into two websites and pick up any customers unsatisfied with the changes.

Blockbuster fell into bankruptcy last year when it was bought by Dish Network, America’s second largest pay TV provider, in April.

According to Reuters, Blockbuster will offer new customers a free trial before they have to commit to the site. The company is also advertising that it will have new movie releases available 28 days before Netflix and competitors.

The move comes after customers and investors have harshly criticised Netflix, with shares falling 50% in the last two months.
