News reader app Pulse has signed a new deal with ESPN in order to distribute sports content through the program, both companies have announced.

Pulse, which gained notoriety last year after being featured by Apple, has also hit the five-million user mark.

In a new blog post, Pulse vice president of business development Christina Cordova said the app will be featuring much more sports content.

“To celebrate the addition of ESPN, we’re also revamping our already popular Pulse Sports category. Now you can stay up-to-date with top sports sources like ESPN, SB Nation, Bleacher Report, and Yahoo! Sports, or discover new voices from independent sources like National Football Authority, PRORumors.com, and GolfWeek.”

“The new Pulse Sports features top sources in the world of football, baseball, hockey, world football, golf, tennis, boxing, motorsports, MMA, and even pro wrestling.”

The Pulse reader originally started as a school project, but has become commercially successful over the past year.
