Three workers employed at a Foxconn factory in China, where Apple products including the iPad are produced, have been killed after an explosion.
While media reported late last week that two workers had died as a result of the blast, a seriously injured worker has apparently died overnight. Sixteen others have been hurt.
The plant, located in Chengdu, apparently suffered an explosion due to combustible dust found in a polishing shop.
“Production has been suspended at the site of the explosion until the completion of the investigation,” Foxconn said in a statement.
“The safety of our employees is our highest priority and we will do whatever is required to determine and address the cause of this tragic accident.”
