Tech giant Apple is planning a new software update for the iOS platform that will fix a tracking issue the company explained in a statement last week, according to Boy Genius Report.
The tracking issue had been exposed by some American researchers, and then picked up by tech publications. Apple explained the issue was that the iPhone tracks locations of WiFi networks and mobile phone towers to cache the data, making it easier for future connections.
According to Boy Genius Report, the new software update will be released in the next two weeks. The iOS version 4.4.3 will make sure the cached data doesn’t back up to iTunes, and the actual size of the database will be reduced.
The fix will also introduce battery life improvements, and improve some iPod app bugs.
