Google’s Android operating system has continued to gain ground in the smartphone war, according to the latest figures from Nielsen.
The figures show that the platform’s market share grew from 22.7% in October to 25.8% in November. But Apple has also managed to steal some ground, moving up from 27.9% to 28.6% with its iOS platform.
Research In Motion has lost ground with its BlackBerry OS, dropping from 27.4% to 26.1%. RIM has previously recorded market share as high as 33%.
While Google Android is continuing to gain power, experts predict Apple will maintain its lead, given that another iPhone is expected to arrive in the middle of the year, with hints that the gadget will also arrive on the Verizon network in the US.
