Apple may have just released a new software update but another is planned for next month alongside the release of News Corp’s new Daily magazine, new reports suggest.
Macstories is reporting that iOS 4.3 will be out next month and will bring with it magazine subscriptions. John Gruber at Daring Fireball has claimed the press event will take place on December 9.
However, it would be quite unusual for Apple to have a press conference just for an iOS update, prompting Mashable to point out that this event could also play host to the launch of News Corp’s new Daily publication.
The iPad-only publication already has a range of journalists working on the project, and has been confirmed by Rupert Murdoch himself.
The rumours also come after separate reports have claimed Apple may be planning to launch a type of subscription marketplace for newspapers and magazines on the device.
