The National Broadband Network Company has reportedly made “massive progress” in rolling out its IT infrastructure, having been given the approval to construct data centres.

The company’s head of portals and online services Michael Bromley told an IT conference that the first data centre has been given approval and will be online and operational by January next year.

As reported by ITNews, the company has had some issues with constructing two data centres far apart, but it will use Oracle technology to deal with any significant problems.

“It’s the most exciting and scary thing you can imagine,” he said regarding the company’s IT strategy.
