Social networking giant MySpace is sent to relaunch itself later this year in an attempt to catch up to rival Facebook, which is currently dominating the industry.
The site, which is owned by Fox Interactive, a division of News Corp, has been struggling for quite some time as it loses members to the Facebook alternative. Co-President Mike Jones told AAP last week Rupert Murdoch is keen to see some changes.
“We spent time with him, he was in the offices last week, we walked him through our full 2010/2011 product road map, including visuals, and it wasn’t a light walk-through,” Jones said.
“I know that when that relaunch comes I’ve got a great product, I’ve got a global audience that at one point used MySpace… I think I can make the old new again for them,” he said.
It is understood the relaunch will see MySpace place more emphasis on music.
