Facebook has created one of the most comprehensive social networking apps available on the App Store, but new updates have made the program a must-have for the network’s users.

The app now comes with push support, meaning users can have notifications similar to text messages arrive on their phone when something happens, such as a friend request or a photo tag.

Additionally, new features also include the ability for users to sync the photos of their friends with the photos in their contact book โ€“ leaving some third party apps in the lurch.

The new app also comes with a feature allowing users to include a “live feed”, which documents the actions and updates of friends in real time, to be included in the regular news feed, similar to recent updates on the actual site.

The Facebook app is available for free on the iTunes Store.
