A new business now allows users on social networks to send packages to other users by only providing the recipient’s profile name, user ID or email address.

The new business, titled “SendSocial”, is only in a beta format but is beginning to make a reputation online. While users can already send packages to each other without leaving home, an address is required. But SendSocial now does all the work for the user.

A customer tells SendSocial the Twitter ID or email address of the recipient, after which the company sends that user a request for their address details. That information is not shared with the sender, but is then given a notification to pay via credit or debit card.

The customer then prints out a bar-coded mailing label to fix to the package, and is then delivered by delivery company myHermes.

The company is currently operating only in Britain, but is reportedly working on expanding into new countries.
