Out of millions of users on giant social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, how do you know where you rank among them? A new online tool is now helping you find out.

TweetLevel, released by public relations firm Edelman, reveals to users how trusted they are, and how influential they are on Twitter.

The tool uses a type of algorithm developed by the company which takes into account the quality and quantity of “tweets”. Users can even compare their influence and reputation to others.

Four categories are considered: how many people listen to you, how many people follow you, your active participation rate and how much people believe what you say.

“Unlike most rankings that look merely at the number of followers someone has, TweetLevel gives you a really clear picture of who is important within this increasingly influential forum,” Edelman head of strategic analysis Jonny Bentwood said in a statement.
