Internet giant Google will reshoot its street view images of Japan after users complained that it was providing users with a view over home fences.

The company has said it will re-shoot all of its images with a camera at a lower level, after it received complains from residents, product manager Keiichi Kawai said in a statement.

ย

“We admit that there were concerns about the service. People said we might have neglected the privacy issue,” Kawai said. “We took their opinions seriously and made careful considerations.”

ย

It is just one of the many recent incidents Google has encountered over privacy issues with its street view application. In Greece, Street View has been banned by a Governmental privacy watchdog.

ย

The service was stopped from photographing an English village after its residents formed a blockade, preventing the Google car from moving entering.
