A memo detailing pricing and retail information for Microsoft’s new Windows 7 Operating System has been leaked onto the internet. The memo is designed for staff at US electronics chain Best Buy, and warns stores not to advertise the new Windows 7 OS as “Vista that works”, in a clear sign that Microsoft is aware of the alleged downfalls of the Vista operating system.
The memo also claims that any PC sold at Best Buy with Windows Vista between 26 June and 22 October, (the launch day of the product), will receive a free upgrade to Windows 7.
Otherwise, Best Buy will pre-sell upgrades starting from $US49.99 and reaching $US99.99. While that equates to $AU63 and $AU126, it is unclear how much the upgrades will cost for Australian users.
