Couples are going to extraordinary lengths to make their wedding stand out by sending invitations made from tea towels, luggage tags and even playable vinyl records.
Couples have recreated album and movie covers and video games, with one couple creating a vinyl record invitation that turned into a makeshift record player.
Illustrator Carla Berrocal, from Madrid, created a 1980s Atari-style invitation for two computer analysts in Chile.
“The couple approached me and gave me all the freedom I wanted so I could be creative and make something personal to them,” Berrocal says.
“Now I have a lot of people asking me if they can use the design for their own wedding.”
As brides and grooms become increasingly competitive about how they celebrate their big day, wedding-related services continue to surge in popularity.
While there is no shortage of wedding planners, perhaps a specialist service offering unique, one-off wedding invitations could be the way to go.
