Budding entrepreneurs have been urged to submit their ideas to a competition that offers $10,000 and mentorship from Jaimie Fuller, founder of sportswear clothing range Skins as a prize.
Nokia, which is behind the competition, is also offering an E7 smartphone to the winner of the competition, which has been created in conjunction with In Hindsight, an online book that looks at the achievements of seven Australian entrepreneurs.
Entries can be submitted online, with five finalists chosen to present to a panel of judges, including Fuller, Chris Carr, managing director of Nokia and Suzi Dafnis, director of the Australian Businesswomen’s Network.
The overall winner will be decided by the judges and a public vote via Nokia’s Facebook page.
Carr says: “We want to see ideas that buck a trend or are standout. You may have an existing business and need a hand getting it to the next stage or perhaps have had an idea and need help getting if off the ground.”
“Either way, you need to put together a well-thought-through pitch and answer some fundamental questions on why you think there is a need for your product or service and how you could benefit from the money and mentoring.”
The competition closes on 14 August. Entries can be submitted through www.nokia.com.au/inhindsight
