If you’re managing a busy WordPress blog then you’re probably getting lots of comments, and there’s often not enough time to keep on top of them. Thankfully there’s a handy tool to keep you updated.
First, you need to download the WP-Comment-Notifier widget, and install it on your computer. Then, once it’s installed, enter your blog’s URL, and then your username and password.
After that’s all been set up, you’ll be able to review all your comments by double-clicking the new icon that appears in your tray at the bottom of the screen. You’ll be able to view comments, pending comments, and spam. You can select individual comments and then give it an action.
You can also edit the HTML of a comment from within the notifier itself. When you get a new comment, you’ll get a little pop-up screen telling you how many comments you have either posted or pending. You can even reply to comments within the notifier itself.
This isn’t a permanent solution but it’s a good way to keep on top of your comments if you’re finding yourself getting swamped.
