Tools are a wonderful thing. They help us do things faster, better and more efficiently.
Instead of poring through lines of code to find out if a link is not followed or if the alt text has been set properly, tools help us save half or even more of our time!
Google Chrome is one such tool. It has a built in an “inspect” element function that is accessible simply by right clicking on anything. Really handy if you want to examine the code of any element on the page. Simply right click on it (an image or link, etc) and inspect element! It immediately takes you to the portion of code with that element in it.
Google Chrome also comes with incognito mode which allows you to surf a site without cookies, cache and any other personal preferences remembered. To turn on Incognito mode, you simply click on the tool button on the top right and select New Incognito window, or simply press Ctrl+Shift+N.
The other really useful feature about Google Chrome is that it comes with a whole suite of extensions which help make this powerful browser even better. My favourite ones for SEO are the SeoMOZ MOZbar and the Web Developer extensions. To add extensions to Chrome, simply visit the chrome web store here.
