UP WristbandA new wristband that links to a smartphone app is designed to be worn around the clock to make the wearer healthier by tracking eating habits, sleep and exercise.

From the moment the wristband wakes you up, it monitors everything you do, even prompting you to get up if you’ve been sitting still.

US Creator Jawbone says the wristband, aptly named “Up”, is stylish enough to be worn with a cocktail dress.

The wristband is made of a spring steel frame encased in sweat-proof, water-resistant, hypoallergic rubber. It can be worn during workouts and in the shower.

When paired with an iPhone, it displays users’ running routes on a map. There are also challenges and competitions users can join on their own or with friends.

Challenges include walking 100,000 steps in 10 days, climbing 1,665 steps or sleeping for 10 straight hours to get a good night’s sleep.

A wristband represents a fuss-free way of improving one’s health, which is ideal for anyone on the run. Are there other ways in which you could help time-poor consumers better themselves?
