You can download extensions that block ads, allow you to run programs within Chrome or give you notifications for other programs. There are thousands.

 

To look for extensions, head to the Settings bar, then click on “tools” and choose “extensions”. That will take you to the extensions page. Click on “get more extensions” to browse.
