Max Levchin, currently the vice president of engineering at Google and the founder of PayPal, has said that Facebook could become one of the most valuable companies in the world.
Speaking at the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference, Levchin said the social networking giant will become more valuable if it can โsuccessfully replace core messagingโ.
โFacebook has all but successfully monopolised White Pages,โ Levchin said, adding that when people want to find out information about a person, they go to Facebook first.
Levchin also made a number of other comments at the conference, including saying that Twitter may be a better advertising platform than Facebook because you are more likely to find reliable information rather than reviews from friends.
Levchin also said Microsoft had the โclassic problem of having a massive revenue streamโ saying that companies with such issues often protect their current IP instead of innovating.
