This question is asked a lot, so below I have put a list of tips and ideas that you can use to increase the traffic to your page:
1. Make sure your Facebook page details are included in your email signatures.
2. Promote your page in EVERY newsletter you send out, make sure it is hyperlinked in eNewsletters and has the URL written down in paper ones.
3. Invite your personal friends on Facebook to like your page.
4. Add a Facebook Like Box or other social plugin to your website.
5. Ask the likers on your page to invite their friends.
6. Add a landing tab to your page – people are twice as likely to like a page with a landing tab that explains what the page is all about.
7. Add a giveaway to the page that they get when they like it, this could be a discount on their next order or a free checklist or tips sheet.
8. Post up interesting, relevant information that people will share with friends or on their page.
9. Go to other relevant pages and post on them adding value in the post, so not “Hey come and visit my page” but more of “I love your social media tips, I finally managed to add a landing tab to my page with your blog post on my page [insert your page name]”.
10. Promote your Facebook page in other social media that you use, eg. a blog you write, or on Twitter or YouTube.
11. By commenting on posts that your visitors make they are more likely to recommend you to friends. People like to have their comments acknowledged so that they feel that you are listening.
12. Create virtual gifts (using an application) that people can give to friends, this helps spread the word about your business.
13. Find out who the influencers are in your field and try to persuade them to join your page, this may sway others into joining depending on their level of influence.
Getting the right “likers” (the ones that are actually interested in what you offer) to your page is not an easy job, nor is it something that happens overnight. Instead you need to work on it regularly, be creative and keep your current visitors engaged.
