Australian business owners will be working at home or during holidays this Christmas period, according a survey from I.T. on Tap.

The survey finds 91.7% of Australian small business owners will be taking time off, but 88.2% of those owners will still be working. Among those working, the top five priorities will be email (79%), general administration (57.8%), finances (38%), writing a 2009 business plan (37.6%) and updating website content and 2009 budgets (30.7%).

I.T. on Tap and business owner Ken Wood says the Christmas break is a good time for business owners to catch up on work for the coming year.

“Many small business owners can’t wait for the break so they can work on their business, rather than in it, where focus is primarily on the customer. With the customer usually on a long break, this is the perfect time for small business owners to work on essential company strategies, systems and processes.”
