An Italian publisher says its iPad magazine, Timbuktu, is the first ever targeted at kids and designed to allow children to understand the news while being entertained.
Editor-in-chief Elena Favilli says children have a great interest in what’s going on around them, and the app combines imagination and technology.
Mashable.com says Timbuktu has different navigation tools to other magazines: you navigate down when a new section starts, rather than flipping pages from left to right.
The publication, which is free of charge, follows other child-focused apps, including Dr Seuss book titles.
