VHA has upgraded the amount of data available to consumer and business post-paid plans under its Vodafone and Three brands.
The upgrades will affect users signing up to the 24-month contract plans costing $19, $29, $49 and $79 per month. While these plans originally carried zero, 50, 500, 750 and 1,000 megabytes, respectively, they will now be upgraded to 100, 200, 1,500, 2,000 and 2,000 megabytes.
The decision comes after the major carriers have all upgraded the amount of data available on their iPhone plans, as more users are now accessing the internet and bandwidth-heavy applications from their phones.
However, consumer groups have pointed out users are still not aware of how much data they have available, pointing out the possibility of “bill shock”. Earlier this month Telstra said several of its users are actually unaware of how much they download, and how much those downloads cost.
