Collapsed kitchen company in liquidation

A Queensland-based kitchen company has been placed in liquidation with debts of more than $5 million.

The company, Euroline Group, which operated three factories around the state, was placed in administration in mid-December.

Administrator Matthew Joiner from PKF Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers in Brisbane has been trying to sell the three distinct parts of the business through the administration process, but creditors voted to formerly liquidate the group on Wednesday.

One of the company’s division, an operation in the Sunshine Coast suburb of Forrest Glen, which was formerly known as Just Benches, was sold at auction just before Christmas.

A second operation in the suburb of Warner (operating under the name of Euroline Benchtops and Doors) was sold to another kitchen firm called Bench Space last week, saving 31 jobs.

Joiner will now attempt to sell the third part of the Euroline Group, known as Euroline Stone, which operates from premises in the suburb of Brendale.

“I’m attempting to sell those assets in situ, as if it were going concern,” he told SmartCompany this morning.

Joiner says he has already spoken with several interested parties and hopes to have the sale completed by March 30.

Just Benches merged with Euroline at the start of 2009, but by the end of last year it was clear that the company, which employed more than 100 workers at its peak, was in trouble.
