Outlook is a great and powerful way to manage your email, but there are plenty of ways you can improve on Microsoft’s product.
If you’re managing a start-up then you’re most likely regularly talking with dozens of different people – potential employees, clients, perhaps even some marketing agencies. You need a way to manage all of that.
You can always search through your emails the native way. In the Inbox, you’ll see a search bar above your emails saying “Search Inbox”. The shortcut for this is Ctrl+E, and this is a good way to search for emails long past.
But if you want a more powerful solution, try downloading Xobni. This free client appears on the right-side of the Outlook inbox, and allows you to search your entire email catalogue for search terms, names, dates and phone numbers.
The program will bring up a list of search terms, and you’re able to go through all of your emails to find what you’re looking for. You can also search through archived emails, and if you’re regularly speaking with a few different people, it will automatically create a profile for them with contact information taken from their email signature.
If you’re finding it hard to go through your inbox, searching with either the native search or Xobni will be a good solution to your troubles.
