Job Capital, a financial management service for contractors, took out the top prize of Officeworks Fastest Growing Start-up at the StartupSmart Awards last week.

Jo Burston founded the company in 2006 after audaciously pitching the idea to investor Philip Weinman while working for her previous employer.

She built the company from the ground up to record revenue of $9.14 million last year, a total that saw her taking out top spot in our Start-up 50.
