One of the biggest pains about operating a laptop is the battery – it wears out pretty quickly if you’re doing heavy work. But if you only want the computer to alert you at certain times when the battery is going to fail, there’s an easy way to change the settings.
First, you want to go to the Control Panel and then select “Power Options”. You can then click on “Change plan settings” in order to select the details you want broadcast.
You’ll find a screen that gives you a bunch of different options about when to dim the display, turn off the display or put the computer to sleep. You can adjust those to different times – for example, you can set the computer to go to sleep at five minutes instead of 10.
You can also select these options for when the computer is either on battery power or plugged in.
If you want to get even more complex, you can click on advanced battery settings and then choose notifications for different events – when the battery is low, critical or any other type of level.
