Although broadband is the norm and most companies have 24/7 access to the internet, things still go wrong. Telcos experience outages and your business shouldn’t be left behind by an accident.

 

Bearing this in mind, you should have a backup plan. Most telcos offer 3G broadband internet through USB keys, and these can be topped up via prepaid deals. You probably won’t need them, but they’re worth having for an emergency.

 

Yesterday, Telstra reported an outage yesterday for its BigPond and Foxtel cable services – emphasising again why businesses need to have backups.

 

“The issue was fixed this morning and we are now working to ensure the remaining backlog of emails are being distributed to customers,” a spokesperson told ITNews.com.au
