Software giant Microsoft is set to release a version of its new Windows 7 operating system tomorrow, which is almost identical to the final version to be released later this year.

ย

The company is releasing what it calls a “release candidate” of the operating system, which has been hailed by analysts as a better version of the Vista operating system.

ย

“Listening to our partners and customers has been fundamental to the development of Windows 7,” Bill Veghte, senior vice president for Windows systems, said in a statement.

ย

“We heard them, and worked hard to deliver the highest quality release candidate in the history of Windows.”

ย

While the release beta version has been made available to software developers already, it will be made available to the public tomorrow on Microsoft’s website. Users can install the software and run it as a normal operating system.

ย

The new opeating system features compatibility with touch-screen computers and changes to the control bar at the bottom of the screen, which can now hold bookmarks to programs similar to those seen in Apple Mac computers.
