Entrepreneur Pubboy homes for sale

Pubboy entrepreneur Mark Alexander-Erber has slapped “For Sale” signs on two of his NSW homes. And his estranged wife, Jade Alexander-Erber, has her Paddington pad up for sale as well.

Alexander-Erber’s Pubboy group collapsed last month owing creditors about $20 million. The Australian Financial Review reports that ANZ Bank, which it understands has a $10.5 million exposure to Pubboy, has appointed insolvency firm PPB as receivers over six of Pubboy’s hotels.

Alexander-Erber, whose fortune was valued at $20 million by BRW’s Young Rich list in September last year, told SmartCompany in February he was selling his pubs but keeping his Pubboy brand.

One of his companies, formerly known as Pubboy Pty Ltd, has gone into liquidation and Ferrier Hodgson has been appointed by BankWest. But Alexander-Erber denied then that the pubs were for sale because he needed the cash.

He said he was looking for “$30 million-plus” for the pubs, which include the Aberdale Hotel in Weston, the Belmore Hotel in Scone and the CBD Hotel in Newcastle.

Alexander-Erber, who went to school with James Packer but sports a tattoed “tough guy” image, is reportedly looking for $4 million for the family’s four-bedroom, four-bathroom home in Sydney’s Rose Bay.

For a near-new Hunter Valley home at The Vintage in Rothbury, a housing estate with a gold course, he hopes to fetch $680,000.
