As GPS systems in cars become more common, it will come as no surprise that people now want to accessorise. One handy new item – and just in time for Christmas! – is YourPND, a recording device that allows you to record your own voice instructions to play through your GPS.
So instead of that strange androgenous voice telling you to “turn right at the next junction,” you can record your own message – say, “turn right, before it’s too late!” Even more fun is to be had if you have time to record a set of instructions for the car of a friend or loved one. “Make a u-turn – looks like you’ve gone the wrong way again,” or “turn right at the next exit – no wait, I mean left” are just a couple of possible messages that leap to mind.
According to Springwise, it takes just seven minutes to record a full set on instructions using your computer headphone, and the product comes with instructions as to how to get the sound file into your GPS system. The system costs €6.95, or alternatively you can pay €19.95 to have a flashdrive with your voice instructions shipped to a lucky recipient.
