Google has accidentally allowed the new branding for its troubled mobile phone subsidiary, Motorola, slip via a tech conference website.

According to The Verge, the new logo was accidentally displayed on the official website of the Techweek conference.

The new logo features the company’s traditional M logo now presented in a multi-coloured circle.

Underneath, in all lower-case letters, is the company name, along with the phrase “a Google company”.

The news comes amidst growing speculation the company’s next generation Moto X phone will be launched alongside the new corporate branding.

The Moto X is a new smartphone that, according to reports, is being developed within Google’s X division labs and could be manufactured in the US.

As recently reported on SmartCompany, there is some speculation the Moto X could debut alongside the latest version of Android, dubbed 5.0 Key Lime Pie, in October.
