How Young Folks started

Working in traditional marketing and advertising, Erin Morris felt a profound disconnect between her personal values and the full-throttle consumerism she was helping fuel. Disenchanted and aware of a deeper shift in consumer sentiment, she founded her full-service agency Young Folks in 2019. It specialises in strategy, creative, content and performance marketing, and is committed to partnering with ethical and sustainable brands in the business of doing good.

“We’re scaling our creative services,” says Morris, “expanding from digital marketing and content strategy to brand identities, campaign creative, art direction, and video production. With our growing team, we can take clients from strategy to brand development, campaign creative, and amplification through content and performance marketing.”

Where to next

Morris admits she had to deal with naysayers within her professional and personal life who believe Young Folks’ ethical stance is too limiting. But the business remains committed to brand activism, and will continue producing resources that help brands use marketing for meaningful change. “Ultimately, we want to be the go-to agency for purpose-driven brands,” says Morris, “proving that profit and purpose aren’t mutually exclusive.”
