How Kimberlin Education started
For many years, teachers have been lobbying for a balance between teaching and planning time. They have also been advocating for a reduction in administrative duties, additional resources and support, and a way to enable better connections between curriculum and the real world. Driven to make a difference for teachers, Kimberlin Education founder Naomi Lindermeyer decided to address the challenges she and her colleagues faced daily. Over the past 14 years, Kimberlin Education has built a community that brings together teachers and school leaders, students, parents, and industry experts to collaborate and create dynamic education programs with real-world relevance.
Growth
Beyond its core work in creating its educational programs, Kimberlin aims to give back to the community. Its annual pro bono program, Pledge 1%, sees 1% of company time donated to developing youth educational campaigns for not-for-profit organisations. Kimberlin this year also partnered with the Ruby Tuesday Foundation to develop a program connecting disadvantaged students with new and exciting possibilities regardless of their family’s financial means. It was a whole-team effort that ran the gamut from program strategy to design and development and content creation.
Where to next
Expanding Kimberlin’s vision of supporting more teachers and students is the company’s next move, says co-founder Danielle Fletcher. A key focus will be developing bespoke Kimberlin content, enabling the creation of even more tailored, high-quality resources for educators. By creating materials that resonate with both teachers and students, the company expects to increase its impact and maintain its support of educators, remaining true to Kimberlin’s mission since its inception.
