Google has unveiled its new Nexus 4 smartphone and Nexus 10 tablets ahead of the Christmas rush, with Australians among the first in the world to receive the new devices.
The Nexus 4 smartphone, built by LG, includes “wireless” inductive charging, a 4.7-inch display and a quad-core processor, although it doesn’t support 4G/LTE phone networks. According to Lifehacker, an 8GB will sell for $349, while the 16GB version will cost $399, with Google selling the new smartphones directly rather than through Telstra, Optus or Vodafone.
Google has also announced a 10-inch version of its Nexus 7 tablet called the Nexus 10, which will be built by Samsung. The 16GB model is $469, while the 32GB version will cost $569.
Finally, Google announced a version of its Nexus 7 with 32GB and mobile data.
The new devices will run Google’s new Android 4.2 operating system, also unveiled today, meaning they will be able to use new features such as Photo Share, with multiple users for the tablets.
