Apple CEO Tim Cook has announced an upgrade to the company’s Mac Pro line in 2013, following disappointment from professional users about a lack of upgrades to Apple’s high-end products at the 2012 World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC 2012).
In an email published by Macworld, Cook states: “Although we didn’t have a chance to talk about a new Mac Pro at today’s event, don’t worry, as we’re working on something really great for later next year.”
In the email, Cook points out that Apple has released a minor update to its Mac Pro line, and the updated MacBook Pro announced at WWDC 2012 would be “a great solution for many pros”.
Cook also cites continuing updates to Final Cut Pro X and recent updates to Aperture as further examples of the company’s commitment to its high-end design customers.
