Telco giant Telstra will launch a new streaming music product in an attempt to challenge market veterans including Apple, along with Spotify, which is said to be entering the Australian market within weeks.

The company has teamed up with an American company, MOG, in order to start selling streaming music.

The Herald Sun has reported Telstra executive director of media JB Rousselot said the companyโ€™s new app would be available through different telcos, but Telstra customers wouldnโ€™t be use up bandwidth on a userโ€™s quota.

โ€œThe days of storing CDs or loading your playlists onto all your devices are coming to an end,โ€ Rousselot said.

The move comes as JB Hi-Fi has already launched its own streaming product.
