According to new data released by MySpace, the company is now recording an average of 40,000 new registrations per day and now has a million new users since launching a new music player in December.

In a statement written by chief executive Tim Vanderhook, the business brags that at 42 million songs it has the largest collection of free music in the world.

“The numbers tell an amazing story of strong momentum and dramatic change for MySpace,” Vanderhook said in a statement. “And the one million-plus new user accounts we’ve seen in the last 30 days validates our approach.”

Vanderhook along with a team of investors, including pop star Justin Timberlake, purchased MySpace from News Corp back in June. The site had been in decline for some time, losing both members and revenue.
